First off, I have to decide to go for a walk. I often feel like a walk but am filled with trepidation about what the outcome might be. Many of us struggle with our emotions. To share our feelings can be a great relief. Sharing feelings isn’t often taught. People are lucky to learn some options and choices related to their feelings. Put away the cheese. Straighten up the fridge. Be in by 10. Clean up the bathroom. Don’t eat anymore butter tarts. You reach a point where when you leave home it can be a relief. To have a label that drags you down is annoying. One label that I have had given to me is schizophrenia. It is hard enough to show you are worth something in this world, but to do so with a demeaning label like this is extra hard. When I cover it up or refer to it as the ‘s’ word or talk about my imagination or about the angels that talk then I hope you have some acceptance to this description of the condition.

Growing Up With Empowering Beliefs

When I was a kid we were driving to camp… my grandma was driving because my parents were away. When we had ten minutes left of the trip we decided we didn’t want to go. We were nervous and I had major butterflies in my tummy. We went anyway. It was really fun. We got to know lots of other kids. We got to sail, do archery, do crafts, swim, row, canoe and many other things. The best part was the wonderful camp-fires. Read the rest of this entry
